Subway Tile

Subway gets its name from the style of small format rectangle surface tiles that were used in the NYC Subway system, where glass was typically the material they were made of. While this utilitarian tile has been used in commercial spaces for years, it is now a staple in residential bathrooms and kitchens across the globe. These days, we tend to consider a variety of shapes, sizes, and materials designed for walls to be Subway Tiles.
