Design & Aesthetic

Color is the defining characteristic of Kappa. The field palette spans warm yellows and oranges, pinks and reds, greens, blues, neutrals, and white, allowing both monochromatic and multicolor layouts.

The surface intentionally retains irregularities associated with handcrafted tile. Raw changes the visual language through a granular dimensional white surface, while the narrow Matita pieces can introduce contrasting lines and material accents between fields of color.

Material & Craftsmanship

The primary Kappa field tile is ceramic. The collection also includes accessory elements in terracotta and natural wood, meaning the full Kappa range should not be treated as a single material system. Kappa tiles are 8.5 mm thick, and Matita trim pieces are 11 mm thick in the collection.

Design Applications

Kappa is intended for wall applications. Its strength lies in modular color compositions, from single-color fields to patterned installations that combine multiple field colors and pencil accents. 41zero42 also developed configurable repeat patterns for exploring color combinations.
