Futura by 41zero42 is a 6×6-inch glazed porcelain collection influenced by early twentieth-century art and architecture, including Bauhaus and Pierre Chareau, and by traditional handmade cement tile. Neutral Grey is joined by White, Black, Rose, and Blue bases and a broad group of geometric and figurative decorative designs.
Futura functions as a modular graphic system. Half, Drop, T, and Grid motifs can be arranged into repeating patterns, while designs such as Triangles, Tubes, Microchip, and Bird introduce more distinct compositions.
The restrained background colors allow geometry to drive the installation. Slight tonal differences between backgrounds and decorations, together with small surface irregularities, soften the precision of the graphics and reinforce the cement-tile reference.
Futura is HD digital glazed porcelain with a natural surface and a 10 mm thickness. 41zero42 intentionally incorporates minor variations in flatness and orthogonality and small irregularities in the glazed surface to evoke characteristics associated with handmade cement tile.
Futura can be used for floor applications. The single 6×6-inch module allows base and decorative pieces to be combined without changing nominal scale, making the collection particularly suited to patterned floor compositions.
The collection’s design depends heavily on layout. Determine the repeat, orientation, and balance of base versus decorated pieces before quantities are finalized.
Futura’s minor differences in flatness, orthogonality, surface character, and tone are described as intentional characteristics rather than a uniformly machine-flat appearance. Samples should therefore be evaluated as part of a broader composition rather than as isolated pieces.
