Collection Overview

Collection Summary

Cemento by Casalgrande Padana is a full-body porcelain stoneware collection for floors and walls that reproduces the look of architectural concrete. It comes in Antracite, Beige, Bianco, and Grigio, each in two surfaces: Cassero, which recalls formwork-cast concrete, and Rasato. Formats run from 12×24″ field tiles to 47×102″ Kontinua panels in 6.5 mm, with listelli, mosaics, a woven-look Mosaico Tessuto, and a Rug Cemento decor. The two-surface system across one palette is the collection’s key differentiator.

Design & Aesthetic

Cemento is a restrained, industrial palette of four neutrals: Bianco and Beige on the light side, Grigio in the middle, and Antracite for depth. Choosing between Cassero and Rasato changes the character more than the color does: Cassero reads as cast-in-place concrete, Rasato as a smoother finished surface. The decorative pieces add pattern without leaving the palette, including Mosaico Tessuto in two-tone combinations, 1.4×30 cm listelli strips, and a 30×60 cm composition, so a single concrete story can carry from field floor to feature wall.

Material & Craftsmanship

Cemento is full-body porcelain stoneware made in Italy. Tile X Design tags the collection for recycled material and sustainability. Casalgrande Padana highlights its wear resistance for residential, commercial, and public interiors, and lists the Associated Press headquarters in New York among its Cemento projects.

Design Applications

Tile X Design lists Cemento for floors, walls, and shower floors. Large-format field tiles and Kontinua panels suit expansive commercial floors and walls with fewer joints, while Listelli and Mosaico pieces work for shower floors, niches, and accent bands. Casalgrande Padana offers step treads (30×120 cm), bullnose (9×60 cm), and assembled step and corner pieces (60×33 cm) for stairs and edges.

Specifying Cemento

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Cassero and Rasato in Cemento by Casalgrande Padana?

Cassero recalls concrete cast against formwork, while Rasato gives a smoother concrete surface. Both come in the same four colors, so the surface choice sets the room’s texture and tone.

When should I use the Kontinua panels instead of field tiles?

The 47×102″ Kontinua panels at 6.5 mm reduce grout lines on large walls and floors. Field tiles in 9–10 mm are simpler to handle where layouts have many cuts.

Is Cemento suitable for shower floors?

Tile X Design lists Shower Floor as an application. Use the smaller mosaic formats for slope and drainage, and confirm the slip rating of the chosen surface.

Can Cemento run from floor to wall in one material?

Yes. The collection is specified for both floors and walls, and the decors and listelli share the field-tile palette for continuous schemes.
