Collection Overview

Collection Summary

LOOP by Agrob Buchtal is a glazed stoneware mosaic collection built around small circular tiles in ½” and 1″ diameters. The collection includes 15 finely nuanced colors ranging from neutrals and blues to greens, reds, yellow, violet, and metallic bronze, along with the flowing Ocean Gradient decor. Six colors are also offered with matte, non-slip surfaces, extending the collection into showers and other wet-area applications.

Design & Aesthetic

LOOP combines a classic pennyround geometry with an unusually broad color range. Its palette moves from Arctic White, ivory, grey, and black through saturated blue, aqua, green, violet, coral, and yellow tones. Agrob Buchtal describes both transparent color effects and more saturated hues, allowing the mosaic to shift from quiet tonal surfaces to stronger graphic accents.

The small circular format is especially adaptable to curved surfaces and objects. Contrasting colors can also be arranged into pictograms, lettering, arrows, and other custom motifs.

Material & Craftsmanship

Agrob Buchtal produces LOOP as glazed stoneware. The manufacturer states that up to ten glaze layers are applied and permanently fired into the surface to create the collection’s color depth and luminosity.

Design Applications

LOOP is suitable for floors, walls, shower floors, submerged applications, and outdoor installations. Its small circular modules also allow the mosaic to follow curved walls, columns, seating ledges, counters, and bar fronts.

The manufacturer specifically documents LOOP in wet environments, including swimming-pool and wellness projects.

Specifying LOOP

LOOP is available in approximately ½” and 1″ circular mosaics with a 6.5 mm thickness. Not every color is offered in every surface: six colors are available in matte, tread/non-slip versions, while the broader collection includes high-gloss and metallic options. Confirm the selected color, diameter, and finish together rather than assuming all combinations are available.

For wet or walking surfaces, verify the specific non-slip article. Tile X Design lists R10/B and a DCOF of 0.62 specifically for the matte R10/B finish; that value should not be applied to glossy or metallic LOOP products. Current Tile X Design availability is listed as Stock US, with lead times noted at 1–6 weeks and confirmation recommended with a TXD representative.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can LOOP be used on curved surfaces?

Yes. Agrob Buchtal specifically identifies curved walls, columns, seating ledges, counters, and similar objects as applications for LOOP’s small circular mosaic format.

Are all LOOP colors suitable for shower floors?

No. Six of the collection’s colors are offered with matte, non-slip surfaces. Select an appropriate non-slip article rather than assuming the standard glossy versions carry the same slip rating.

Can custom patterns or graphics be created with LOOP?

Yes. Agrob Buchtal states that contrasting colors can be used for pictograms, lettering, arrows, and even QR-code designs. The manufacturer also provides a Mosaic Designer planning tool for custom motifs, gradients, and combinations.

What is the difference between the ½” and 1″ LOOP mosaics?

Both use the collection’s circular geometry, but the smaller ½” format creates a finer-scale mosaic. Agrob Buchtal specifically describes the smaller diameter as suitable for particularly detailed designs.
