Cerdeña by Monopole Cerámica is a white-body ceramic wall tile collection made in Spain. Each piece measures 5 x 40 cm (2″ x 16″), an elongated format between a traditional subway tile and a slim stick. The tiles have a high-gloss glaze, a wavy, uneven surface, and 30 graphic faces per design. The collection is offered in eight colors: Bianca, Grigio, Capuccino, Bonus, Mugoni, Istana, Pevero, and Zafferano. Cerdeña is designed for walls only.
Cerdeña — the Spanish name for Sardinia — draws on the coastal character of the Mediterranean. The collection achieves a handmade appearance through surface and variation rather than handmade production. The undulating glaze, uneven face, and V3 shade variation create a lively, irregular field. The glossy finish catches light differently across each wave.
The 2″ x 16″ proportion makes the pattern strongly linear. Set horizontally, it reads as an elongated subway tile. Stacked vertically, it adds height and rhythm. The eight colors range from soft neutrals such as Bianca, Grigio, and Capuccino to more saturated tones, including deep blue, green, red, and pink shades.
Cerdeña is a white-body (pasta blanca) ceramic tile with a 9 mm thickness. Monopole describes the tiles as non-calibrated, which means size varies slightly between pieces by design to support an authentic, handcrafted look. The glossy glaze carries the collection’s color and surface movement, and Tile X Design lists it as resistant to chemicals and stains.
Cerdeña by Monopole is a wall-only tile. Tile X Design lists it for kitchen backsplashes, bathroom walls, feature walls, and residential and commercial interiors, including hospitality spaces. The glossy, wavy surface works best where light can travel across the wall, such as a range backsplash, a vanity wall, or a lit feature wall in a hospitality space.
No. Cerdeña is a manufactured ceramic tile designed to achieve a handmade appearance through its wavy glaze, uneven surface, 30 graphic faces, and non-calibrated sizing. It offers the irregular character of artisan tile with the consistency of modern production.
No. Monopole classifies Cerdeña as wall tile only, so it should not be specified for floors, including shower floors. Pair it with a floor-rated tile in the same palette for continuity.
At 2″ x 16″, Cerdeña is much longer and slimmer than a classic 3″ x 6″ subway tile. That creates a more linear, contemporary pattern. Its glossy, wavy surface also adds far more variation in light and texture than a flat subway tile.
Expect noticeable variation in tone, glaze movement, and slight differences in tile dimensions. This variation is intentional. Reviewing several pieces, or a mockup panel, before approval helps set expectations.
