7th Street North Parking Garage

Stageberg Partners was challenged with designing a downtown transit hub and parking garage that needed to be huge and not boring. They decided to create visual interest by pairing luster-glazed and frost-proof porcelain tiles with brick and to add some bright-colored and large-scale tile murals. Key­ back tiles were direct-bonded to poured-in-place concrete and 30 years later it is still “looking good.”
