As a Showroom Design Consultant, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients; From assisting homeowners doing their own projects, to supporting Interior Designers, Builders and Remodelers, Showroom Consultants provide design and technical support for all kinds of projects ranging from small backsplashes to entire homes. Showroom Consultants are responsible for helping clients select, design, and layout tile to create spaces unique to their personal style. By providing samples, answering technical questions, and writing orders you’ll become an expert in the ever-evolving tile world. Working as part of a team you will also be responsible for making and managing samples, designing showroom displays as well as assisting in the overall day-to-day operations of the showroom, and collaborating with multiple departments.

 

Continuously promote Tile X Design’s products and services to homeowners and professionals.

  • Become an expert and champion of brands and product lines supported by TXD
  • Establish a thorough understanding of TXD agreements and sales policies, and services provided
  • Serve as a product knowledge expert, providing industry solutions and expertise in a thorough and educated manner
  • Assisting homeowners, contractors, and designers with tile selections and orders
  • Completing selection sheets or sample checkouts, and making setting material suggestions
  • Utilize selling techniques to increase sales or upsell selections
  • Identify, anticipate and address technical issues, or employ de-escalation techniques when service issues arise
  • Provide accurate and expert information; be responsive to the concerns of all customers as the first “point-of-contact” between the customer and TXD
  • Communicating with Customer Service and Contractors regarding customer selections
  • Writing orders for stock and special-order products; following up with customers once orders are in
  • Collaborate with Showroom and Residential teams to determine new products, and create engaging merchandising displays
  • Maintain Showroom appearance and accuracy of information for products displayed
  • Answering and directing phone calls to multiple departments
  • Scheduling appointments and meeting with multiple clients daily
  • Gather and analyze information to make independent decisions and to solve practical problems
  • Assist clients in selecting ceramic tile, stone, and related products for their various home improvement and building projects
  • Develop lasting customer relationships by treating customers with courtesy
  • Promptly and professionally answer and return customer inquiries
  • Additional tasks or special projects as assigned

 

The successful candidate is design-oriented and has the following competencies:

  • Creative, resourceful, and passionate about interior design
  • Familiar with consultative sales techniques, including the utilization of suggestive selling methods
  • Experience in tile, flooring, or a showroom environment is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a team player and take pride in providing excellent customer service
  • Comfortable establishing, building and maintaining professional relationships with customers
  • Strong focus on the importance of positive customer service and client experience
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills

Requirements:

  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; Standing and/or walking for 6 hours or more a day.
  • A good aptitude for learning computer software used for various role tasks
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in sales or customer service, or equivalent experience to tasks identified

Job Type: On-Site. Role does not qualify for remote work.

Pay: $18-$20/hour

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday through Friday
